How I love this

I always feel so honored when I'm put in a treasury. It always makes my day a little brighter. Also, these folks are so talented putting them together. I'm sure if I ever tried to make one it would turn out to be a mishmashed (is that even a word??? lol) mess!

And it's my favorite clutch. I know that I say that everything that I make is my favorite, but I really think that this one is my favorite one- that gray color just goes with everything (plus, I'm in a gray phase right now- LOVE the gray!!!!).

This week

was filled with cutting down a lot of stuff in my backyard. If you go back a few posts, you'll see some of the before pictures (they aren't actually before pictures since we cleaned up the yard a bit before they were taken, but you get the idea.).

I got to use a chainsaw for the first time (only for about 5 minutes before it was taken away- I'm pretty accident prone)- and it felt awesome!

This is my husband appearing to be manly. :)

This is Jesse (my husband) and Mark (my dad's partner) tearing stuff down. My dad, the kids and I all sat on the porch and watched. It was good entertainment.

That's Mattie (with her little puppy Sugar), my dad, and Layla (my oldest daughter with her puppy Pepper).

It was a wonderful week filled with yard work, a lot of sewing (work), and my dad's incredibly wonderful food (which I miss SOOOOOO much!).

Now we have a ton of brush that's going to be disposed of this weekend. That should be fun. Who wants to help???

I saw James Brown

I've done what every person in Augusta has done- taken a picture of the statue of Mr James Brown. I feel as though my life is finally complete. At least this chapter of living in the crappiest city that I've ever lived in.

Don't I look thrilled??? I think it's because Master's week (some stupid golf thing) is coming up soon.

This is my top secret friend who will not be named. Yes, it looks like he was in Augusta, but I assure you that he wasn't. Let's just call him Nick.

On to some other news, it's spring (or close enough). I'm marking all scarves in my shop half off. 15 bucks for a scarf isn't too bad of a deal, and everyone knows that they should start their holiday shopping early. :)

cleaning our scary yard

Here's some major progress that we've made since my friend came into town. In all seriousness, the yard was a disaster area and you wouldn't believe the amount of crap that we have torn down, disposed of, raked up, and given away to people that love broken shit that is falling apart.... go figure.

This is the stump that I hate and will be killing this weekend.

Just a small bit of trash that we've found. Note all the randomness.

Layla helping clean up the "Scary Shed".

The "Scary Shed" that I refuse to tear down. I just think it looks kind of cool. My husband disagrees.

This weekend we will be taking down trees, tilling the lawn and planting grass. It's going to rock. Thinking back...... now I know why we got this house for so cheap.

the soap shop

My husband opened up yet another soap shop on etsy..... I have no idea what the deal with closing the other one was- we were doing pretty well on there. But I have to admit that his new inventions are pretty awesome- and talk about some great prices!!!

Here's some of his newest ones:

Not only are they pretty, but now he's set up bundle packages that are great for gift giving (for others, or just for yourself!!)

Here's his shop
Take a peak around- I guarantee you'll love it!!!!

Science Fair

My oldest daughter, Layla, is in first grade.... which means she is forced into participating in the science fair. I, myself, am awful at science- my brain just cannot comprehend any of it. Thankfully, they sent a list home with her of different projects she could do. We picked out one of the easiest ones: Which liquid cleans a penny best? I figured we could "arts and crafts" up her board and make it look pretty....

Well guess what? She won! Beat out every first grader in her school. You should have seen her. She was so darn proud- even got a blue ribbon and all! :)

How cute is that????

What I did at home today.....

Basically, a whole lot of nothing. I talked to my friend on the phone for a full five hours, drank an obscene amount of coffee and sewed a little.

Do you want to see me working? Do you? Do you?????

This is me with my youngest daughter, Matilda.... she put a little crown on my head because she thinks I'm a princess. :) Well, I kind of am!

Then I tickled her just because. She seriously squeals like you wouldn't believe!!!
Alright, back to the ole sewing machine....

Hooray for Wes Anderson!!!

I LOVE Wes Anderson.... a lot. Like, if he were to show up on my front doorstep to sweep me off of my feet, I would leave my husband. Just like that. Although I'm sure that Jesse would understand (as he loves Mr. Anderson just as much as I do).

My favorites of all his films is The Royal Tenenbaums. LOVE IT!!!!

So I was popping around etsy and started reading the featured seller interview.... and guess what I found!!!

COASTERS!!!!!!!!!!! (oh, you can find them here)

So you know that I immediately ordered these and I will be checking the mail every day until they show up. Soooooo excited!

And the blog giveaway winner is......

I put all the names (and there weren't too terribly many...) into my trusty hat and Audrey decided to announce the lucky winner!

Congrats Susie!!!
